MASH Gallery By Hand and By Heart poster for exhibition

I am pleased to announce that I will be participating in the Summer Exhibition at MASH Gallery.

This time I will have five of my FREED paintings in the exhibition.  Opening night is Saturday, July 25th, from 7:00pm – 10:00pm.  The exhibition runs through Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Please see below for the information on the FREED paintings I will be exhibiting:

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair”. This famous quote from Grimm’s Fairy Tale inspired this painting, but instead of golden hair, hair colors from ethnicities from across the globe are represented, bringing an all-inclusive, universal symbology to the painting (and the story).

1) Rapunzel:  Completed February 2020, H: 100+” X W: 12”.  Medium:  FREED Painting, acrylic paint suspended in space.

Clown is inspired by Native American Koshare figures who represent trickster deities often embodied by a raven imparting wisdom through unconventional means.

The next three FREED paintings are from my Bliss Series.  All the paintings in the Bliss Series are intended to be hung from the ceiling, existing in the middle of the room, rejecting the wall completely.  Also, All the paintings are two sided, eliminating the distinction between “front” and “back”.  But due to the small size of the gallery, an alternative was necessary and found.  The paintings will be hung on wall mounted brackets, but the paintings will project out into the room 12” so viewers can see/experience both the front and back of each painting.

The Bliss Series of FREED paintings is inspired by Joseph Campbell’s simple yet challenging admonition, “Follow your bliss”.

3) Bliss #1:  Completed August 2022, H: 72” X W: 72”.  Medium:  FREED Painting, acrylic paint suspended in space.

4) Bliss #4:  Completed October 2022, H: 72” X W: 72”.  Medium:  FREED Painting, acrylic paint suspended in space.

5) Bliss #5 Birds in Flight:  Completed October 2022, H: 72” X W: 72”.  Medium:  FREED Painting, acrylic paint suspended in space.
